Update on Category 5 applications

HI all

 

DIAC has announced that Category 5 state or territory sponsored applicants can expect to hear from a Case Officer by 31 May 2012.  Interesting wording - all state or territory sponsored can expect to "be contacted" by a CO; but only s/c 487 can expect to be "assigned to and contacted" by a CO.

 

No news yet on Cat 5 independent or family sponsored.

Hi Susan,

This informnation sounds very promising. But does getting a case officer mean anything at all? I got a case officer on 25th Jan.Sent in all the docs by 1st wek of March. 2 months and no response from the case officer. When we contacted the case officer he said he was too  busy to review our case. Now he is on holidays. What can i do??? can i ask anyone else and see if there is anyway to push. i think its unfair to say he has not had the time to check his emails for 8 weeks!!!!

Oh my, it muz b so fustrating...we have all waited for sooo long now, i havent even got a case officer, i thot that getting a case offier would meant that we will get our visa's soon but now we have another dilema with the case officer too..

Has he given you a time grame for which your visa may be granted?

I am still waiting, and from the looks of the latest update Cat5 176 family are not going to get any attention. Time to concider Canada at this rate.

It has been stated at the bottom about Category 5, family sponosred- 22 DEC 2008, Is that relative sponsored? Lodged in 2009 21st Jan onshore ,is there ever going to be a case officer allocated?

I am South Australian state sponsored I got my sponsorship in 2009 but now my occupation is no more on their list .Will I get  a CO?

Hi Susan,

Even i got South Australian state sponsored in June 2009 and now the occupation is removed from the list.

 

So these new changes will be applicable to me.

My husband and I are also South Australian State Sponsored(Offshore). We're also Cat 5, May 2010, occupation not on the list.
