Based on the latest update I think Group 5 is going backwards. Feeling like I have been conned by immigration department.

I agree, they are never going to process category 5 ever...

Oh my gosh so true....feel so disappointed with this changes again..thot there will be hope for us but..

Been waiting from 2009 Jan, onshore...when will we ever get a case officer?

So unfair for the rest they indicated that nearing allocations they should prepare for plice cleance and health req but then those with (*), not to do it, it means that nothing is going to happen for this whole year n till next year...

Feelz so disappointed!!!

yah gorden feel the same too....onshore or offshore no difference now too :(

I'm IT(Technical analyst)  applied in 475 subclass fly sponsored in March 2009 and today got inform by my MARA agent, Your application will be delay further for not sure when it will be processed and blah blah..and after 3+ years he is saying its batter to withdraw file and re-apply again with new rules (EOI)

For all cat-5 Vitim...We are now helpless :(  any one want to comment Pls. welcome

Hi

If you withdraw will you get your Visa application charge back.

Well I dont know will get our money back but sure we will be release out of jail...!!!!

HI! Hiten

if you withdraw you will not get your visa charges back, my suggestion is to keep your application going, you could lodge a new application under new rules but again it might cost you money, i am in the same position as you, there are thousands of people like us, i am hoping that somebody could do something abot this unfairness by DIAC

Hi Dirk,

Well appreciate your comments but I would say this is not fair after waiting so long and what we achieved. We all had spent lots of money, time and efforts to make this success but at the end of the day goes in vain. !!!!

Hi! i agree, with you the Only thing i guess we can hope now is that there will be few new applications this calendar year and that they will then process category 5 soon.

I will be happy if DIAC says that they dont  keep us cat5  waiting indefinety and return our money back so that we could re apply under the new rules , than having our life in a limbo, life sometimes is not fair

Hi Dirk I got the following from my migration agent

Based on the available places in the 2012-13
migration program (4,200 places), there will not be a sufficient number of
places available for all family sponsored skilled migration applicants. Family
sponsored skilled migration applications in higher priority groups will
continue to be lodged during 2012-13. These higher priority applications, along
with family sponsored skilled migration applications already allocated and
currently in an advanced stage of processing, and applications lodged outside
of Australia prior to 1 September 2007 (in visa subclass 496) will take precedence
over other priority group 5 family sponsored skilled migration applicants. This
will mean that many current priority group 5 family sponsored skilled migration
applicants will not have their applications processed in 2012-13

Looks like it will be another year of waiting unless State sponsorship can be obtianed.

Hi! Gordon

Thanks for sharing,  i am not being negative , but cant help from saying that acccording my agent there are about 31,000 Family Sponosred Applications remains ( onshore/offshore), according to the places availble which 4200nos ( which includes onshore and offshore)  this calendar year, and also there is  a backlog of applications lodged in 2007 FS and onshore applications will be prioritized over offshore, so i cant see family sponsored offshore applications fitting in this calendar year 2012-2013 or even 2013-2014. Unless the rules change and DIAC decides to increase the quota ,for this to happen there has to be a significat reduction of High Priority Category visa, unfortunatley this is also unlikely coz the pass mark was redced to 60 from 65 for new applications( according to me 60 Marks is Easier to get than 65 marks). So all Bad News so us. Only a mircale of sort can change things around

Best Regards

Dirk
