Graduate Student from UK. Occupation not on SOL. After 2 year working holiday i need advice on how to get back to Oz for Good.

Hello Everyone,

After graduating in the UK i went on my Australia adventure and ended up staying there for 2 years on a working holiday visa. I mainly worked in the hospitality sector with some farming work. After coming home i have now decided i want to move to Oz and start my career there. My degree in Environmental Management Bsc Hons is not on the SOL and i have no work experience within my degree. Im finding it hard to get good sound advice on what my best options are in returning to Oz for good. I am willing to study more in the UK or even persue and tradesman course.

In short, i have a degree and have done a 2 years working holiday in Oz. I have no work experience within my degree. I want to move to Oz for good and live there. Can you give me advice in which route i should take???

Thank you

Thank you for your positive email. Yeah im just concerned that i wont be able to follow my dream to work and live in Australia. I am 25 yrs old, so yeah i guess i have age on my side. Experience is a huge help but im Scotland the environmental employment sector has slumped dramatically in recent years. I am considering studying a tradescourse like e.g. a locksmith, what's your advice on taking that path? Do you think i would have a better chance? As trade skills seems to be always needed in Australia do you think this would be a good option to consider? Thanks for your feedback and hope to hear from you in the near future.

Hi Ally

I believe Chris advised you in detail via email a few days ago, but with regard to your specific question above, when it made its last changes to skilled migration, DIAC made a point of advising that there was no longer a nexus between studying in Australia and being eligible to apply for PR.

Best regards
Susan
