Hi Shika

Until DIAC makes its announcement about the results of the MODL Review, in December, no-one can answer your question authoritatively.

Unfortunately, as we get closer to December, many people will claim they know how DIAC will change the rules. Some unethical and unscrupulous people will even use such claims to try and coerce people to pay them to prepare, or amend, their visa applications before any announcement is made. They prey on people who are anxious, worried and because of that, able to be exploited.

So please do not believe anything you are told are about the new FSL, or any rule changes regarding your visa subclass, until it is confirmed by DIAC. No migration agent, travel agent, business person or other adviser is in such a special position that DIAC or the Australian Government will tell them what is going to happen before everyone else knows.

As soon as we are aware of DIAC's new direction, my colleague Lisa Valentine and I will post updates; Lisa in the News section of this site; and I'll post on the Forum.

Best regards
Susan
Hi Susan,
There is fire in some parts of Australia. I am so worried! The icebergs are departing away from Antarctica. Its disturbing too. Really, I am also equally worried about my 475, State approved visa which is in limbo. When I meet some Aus Friends, who knew that I was dearly planning to move to Aus this winter get surprised seeing me here. I have taken up a new assignment, until I get visa to Aus.
MY QUESTION FOR YOU THIS TIME IS
1) Does your innerself say that 475 will be prioritised?
2) Will the occupations like Botanists , Zoologists, Life Scientists, be prioritised?
So far according to my study in the net, I have hardly found above categories applying for visa.Rare cases compared to other occupations.
3) Will the applicants sponsored by states be given some priority?
4) Shall I give up my dream to migrate to Aus?
Please Reply adding some more info....HATS OFF TO YOU SUSAN....Cheers!
Hi Rakesh

In response to your questions:

1) and 3) My personal thoughts are that we will see some movement with regard to state sponsored applications who have provided meds and PCCs at the request of their CO. Please note, that's only my personal opinion in response to your question above and there is no evidence from DIAC to support it.

As with everything DIAC does, any change in policy will be a political decision and the extent of the movement will take into account negotiations with stakeholder groups such as unions and employers groups, as well as the Labor Party's own political agenda.

2)Whether occupations will continue to be prioritised will depend on the direction DIAC takes as a result of the MODL Review.

4) It seems a shame to give up on your plans to migrate when you've gone through so much to get this far - I think it would be a good idea to wait and hear what DIAC says in its next announcement and you can then work out your best options based on that.

Best wishes
Susan
Dear Susan,,
Thanks a lot....I mean I will give up if all the hopes are lost. Thanks....Well, here in Nepal winters have totally embraced with snow in some paqrts....Its christmas time!!!!! See you
Hi,
Thks a lot for your reply Susan. Tc
Hi ,
Long time no see. Well, the other site, trackitt says that someone who applied for 475 was requested to furnish PCC and Meds by the Case officer recently. I am not sure whether it was a bluff. If that is true its a positive development but I am not sure about it.
475, sponsored by the states , co,pcc, meds all cleared must be prioritised. Lets hope for the best.

Hi ,
Thks rakesh lets see how things work out.
Today in the morning, I read somewhere in this forum that DIAC is going to process category 5. There are 3500 applicants which are to be processed by the DIAC in this category. This is not an official statement by DIAC. And one more thing, if I could remember correctly, that this post was by Ms. Susan.
Well, after reading this post I could not find it again in any discussion in this forum. May be Ms. Susan has revert it back and deleted it.
But this was a very useful information for all of us.
I got an information that there are 50 case officers working with the DIAC.If each case officer processes 10 cases daily that means 500 cases will be processed in a day. And 3500 cases will be processed in 7 days means one week. If this information is true ,6(i) and 6(ii) categories are not far from processing.
BALLE BALLE,,,,,Good news for all of us,,,,keep on posting,,,I am also day n night searching threads for good news......
regards
Rakesh
Thks Jaspreet i wish its true. Best of luck 2 all .
Hi Jaspreet

I don't know what happened to the thread - it seems that another thread has disappeared too, as well as Gurvinder's profile. Lisa and Mike are trying to find out what happened.

In the thread you refer to above, I was saying that at a meeting last week, a DIAC officer advised of DIAC's intention to process non-CSL state sponsored applications.

The figure of 3500 was mentioned, but it's not clear whether that referred to the number of applications, or the number of actual visas that were to be granted.

If 3500 applications are intended to be finalised, that will basically mean that all of that group of applications will be finalised. If 3500 visas are to be granted, it will mean that some priority will have to be worked out.

There is currently speculation as to what that priority will be - some people are saying that applications with Meds and PCCs provided at the request of the CO will be finalised as a priority, others are saying that trades occupations will not be processed because of union demands.

As we've discussed before in this forum, there are a lot of influences on the Minister, and the unions in Australia have a very strong influence on Labor government decisions.

I would like to stress to everyone who might be affected that DIAC has not yet officially announced any details about how it intends to process these applications, so anything you hear is really just speculation at this stage; as it has not been confirmed through official channels.

Lisa and I will keep you updated as further details become available.

Just to clarify, this is a separate issue to the MODL Review announcement that DIAC is scheduled to make later this month.

Best wishes
Susan
