Shikha
I've been away from the forum for a week - I need to address the requirements of my practice clients, as I'm not paid to assist people on this forum, so sometimes I can't respond as quickly as I'd like.
I realise it's not easy to question an agent's advice, but I suggest that since you have your CO's name, you simply tell your agent that while you respect their expertise, you would appreciate them writing formally to Mr Ward to obtain confirmation that all is well with your application.
Let them know, politely but firmly, that you need written reassurance from DIAC to put your mind at rest.
Remember, Shikha, you are paying these people to make your migration process as easy and smooth as possible. At the moment, they are not doing that - you're entitled to enjoy the peace of mind you paid them to provide, rather than the anxiety and stress you are currently feeling.
I am looking forward to put-up my PR application as Motor Mechanic (4211-11), just I have cleared VETASSESS and IELTS with band score 6 overall, in order 6.5, 5.5, 5.5, and 6 which will expire in upcoming March. My MARA has suggested me that “I will have to put my visa application within this December or after 1-Jan. 2010 I will have to get 6 band in each four module of IELTS.
As per my knowledge I need 6 band in each module after 1-sep 2009 changes.
My doubt is that is it fare suggestion from my MARA?
My work experience is more then 7 years so, will it make difference?
The level of IELTS you need depends on the visa you are applying for under General Skilled Migration.
If you are applying for a subclass 175, 176, 475 or 476 visa, you will need a score of 6 in each band of IELTS at the time your application is lodged, unless you hold a passport from and citizenship of one of the following countries:
United Kingdom (UK)
Canada
New Zealand
United States of America (USA)
Republic of Ireland
If you are applying for a subclass 885, 886, 887 or 487 visa you will need a score of 5 in each band of IELTS. This will change on 1 January 2010 when the IELTS requirement will increase to 6 in each band.
Work experience requirements are separate from the English language requirements, so regardless of how long you have worked in your nominated trade, it will not make a difference to the IELTS requirement.
If you don't meet the English language requirement at the time your application is lodged,DIAC will refuse your application, and it has the right to keep your visa application charge of AUD$2525. There is no automatic right to a refund.
Just one more thing, MARA is the Migration Agents Registration Authority.
An RMA is a Registered Migration Agent. You can only be an RMA if you are registered with the MARA. You can tell how long an agent has been registered from the first two digits of their MARA registration number - for example, mine is 0635687, which means I started my migration practice in 2006.
To find out if your agent is registered, which means they have to be of good character, have to have passed an examination to enter the profession, must maintain a professional library, undertake continuing professional education and abide by the Migration Agents' Code of Conduct, you can search MARA's Register of Agents: http://www.mara.com.au/mara_agent_search/
