Hello everyone,
My name is Mike and I’d like to introduce myself as the moderator of this forum. I’d also like to thank you all for your involvement so far. I feel that the Embrace Australia community is beginning to evolve into a vibrant meeting place for members to ask questions, gain and give advice, while making friends with other people who have an interest or love for Australia.
I would like to point out that Embrace Australia was set up as a resource and community for intending migrants, tourists, in fact anyone who loves Australia. Our forum rules encourage debate and discussion however we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or inflammatory posts. Accordingly, there should be no personal attacks on Chris Evans and the Australian government or anyone else come to that.
It’s been a hard few weeks for thousands of people across the globe that have been waiting for visas or news of impending moves to this wonderful country. We do understand how frustrating a time this is. However can we make sure we follow the forum rules.
I look forward to reading your posts in the future.

First of all, I would like to congratulate u for starting such a usefull portal and forum. There has been an overwhelming response to this portal in such a short span of time.
Yes there is no doubt that Australia is a wonderful country, people are very helpful. I got this experience from my brother who is Australia for last 7 years.So that is the reason that I opted to live in Australia, but due to economic recession around the world DIAC has to hold up the proceedings, but in my case my visa is a provisional. Still I have to wait for more than 5 years is really frustrating.

We do understand the frustration and disappointment that many forum members are feeling. It is not our intension to stifle or stop disussion on this or any other topic. However we do need to make sure that posts are not rude or inflammatory.
We will aim to bring all members news and developments as they happen so that you can all keep abreast of circumstances.
