Dear Mohsin

Routine background check is a intial check, if the assessment is successful , you will be required to submit police clearance and medical reports etc. btw whats  the Subclass Visa have you applied and when did you lodge the application.

Good luck

Dirk

Dear Dirk,

Thx for your reply. I've applied for 485 in september 2010 and in december 2011 i'd been assigned with the case officer. Dirk one more thing could you please tell me that what they usually check in this particular process in detail.

Moshin

Normally they request for medical reports  and police clearance certificates

Dear Mohsin

I think that background chech time depents on your visa type and the country you've applied from. Just to give you an idea my background check took about 8 months to complete. I've applied for 176 from a high risk country.

applications for temporary visas or those from a low risk country will probably take much less.

cheers
