Hey there! I'm a newbie to this forum and hoping to strike up a chat with anyone who's following a similar path to Oz.
I'm awaiting a case officer to pick up my paperwork in Oz having started the process of applying for visa 176 (state-sponsored) in Jan 2010. I've been accepted by NSW and while I watch the paint dry (wait for a case officer!) I have started looking into a few important things to me like investment property in Oz ahead of my arrival as well as looking for places to stay in NSW during the 2 years I will have to be there.
My intentions are to rent the 2 years while I have to remain in NSW under visa 176 but to invest in a property before my arrival in Oz. That property will remain an investment and in my third year in Oz I would like to travel about to find out where ideally I would like to put down roots.
I also need to do my research on job opportunities - I am an auditor but would like to get back into the commercial world. I am not a city girl really but recognise that I may need to bite the bullet to earn a higher salary during my 2 year stint in NSW. Ideally I would like to live on the outskirts of Sydney and commute into the CBD. I hear the northern suburbs like Frenchs Forrest and Belrose have rental accomodation nore reasonably priced than those closer to Sydney?
Does any one have similar thoughts/experience/tips and advice for me? It would be great to hear from you.
Cheers
Angie
