As all of the members of this group have school-aged children, it would be nice to compare how education differs from that in the UK and elsewhere.
Susan Wareham-McGrath gave me some info recently and told me something I didn't know, that was that private schools in Australia are catholic.
And reading the feature 'Realities of the Dream' the woman who left the UK says she can afford to put her children into private schools in Australia.
So how much is it to subscribe and do you have to be catholic?
Not all the private schools are cathlolic but they are reliogous, found a nice bapsist one in Kalgoorlie. The fees can be anything from AUD 5 000 to AUD25 000 a year.. You do not have to be catholic to send your kids there. To find a list of schools go to www.australianschoolsdirectory.com Some of the better/bigger schools have websites.
Enjoy
Just seen Susan's reply and she says that not all private schools are religious. Not that it makes much difference to us, but it's interesting to know.
What are the state schools like in comparison? Is it worth paying the extra for private do you think?
