Hi Bonnie
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply!
It's going well thanks - the sun is shining and the BBQ is out so couldn't be better!

Well everyone has a healthy respect for heights I guess... that lovely lurchy feeling is a built-in survival mechanism... but I can handle it pretty well.

Actually Syndey Harbour Bridge was very underwhelming on the adrenaline front.
I expected a bit of a thrill but it was more or less like walking along a nice wide arching pavement, only with spectacular and fascinating views. All very safe and solid. They ought to let you bungy jump off it to make up for the lack of eek-factor!

I guess. It doesn't feel that small... but it's had a lot of people in it for a long time, yes. Once it's gone it's hard to get back, though people are trying to plant native woodland again on spare scraps of land.
Look forward to your pics - good luck!

We have some very beautiful, wild and windswept sort of places - moors, highlands, coastal land etc but nothing of that size... the Blue Mountains would fill about three English counties!
We've not really got any rainforest, or much in the way of great old forests at all really. Result of 5,000 years of farming. I think most of the land was cleared by about 1600AD.
Look forward to your photos and good luck with your interview! Have had quite a busy week... well most of my weeks are quite busy ;-)
Let us know how you get on.

Erm, no, we are very short of primeval places in England and anywhere near a big city tends to be covered in industrial parks, greenbelt towns or farmland if you're lucky. We do have a few nice primeval pockets I guess - but nothing anywhere near the vast scale of the Blue Mts, and all miles from anywhere which is how they stayed like that I guess!
Pretty wild that you found an abanonded log cabin in the bush, yeah! Someone should do something with that - great novelty factor.
Would love to see some pics of your home though and your travels.
