Why do you Embrace Australia?

Every Australian I have ever met "on walk-about," here in the United States has been a singularly unique person.

I love all the Australian people who work on movies. The international stars in the big Hollywood movies, and the regular smaller named actors working in the small Aussie Indie films are some of my favorite performers.

The history of our two countries are similar. I've always been interested in Australia. 4 years ago, I named my cat "Ned Kelly," because he's been a wild darlin' since he was a kitten.

I love the Australian spirit and the honest way your country has endeavored to come to peace with the brutality of the past. You are an example and an inspiration to the South Pacific.

Tell us about yourself...

I am a Writer and Performer and Story Teller. I grew up in Detroit and I am descended from warriors of our American Revolution and Abolitionists who helped to free the slaves. traveled with wild hippies in the 1960's to the wild west of New Mexico. I learned to ride and take care of horses and I had a baby girl in my little adobe house in the mountains.

Now, I live in a funky little town in California and I MC and perform at my local cabaret, called YamaGada's. I actually wrote a song about the moon shining all over the world, that mentions Australia. along with 20 other places on the planet. The line goes.....
"In Australia all the Aussies see the same moon that you do."

Presently, I am working on a book and one of the characters is an Australian woman. She is one of the lucky ones in my cautionary tale and I would love to learn even more about your country to stir on my imagination.

That is a lot of gushing to you all, but I am being honest.

Right now I am joining this forum or whatever, because I am concerned about this Tsunami deal. (Feb. 27,2010) As of 11:23pm here big map on CNN shows the path and it looks like the whole east coast of Australia is, was in danger.

Feb 27 Tsunami on Australian Coast

I am sitting here in California and It looks like the path of the Tsunami from Chile is smashing into the east coast of Australia.

CNN is reporting on Chile and Hawaii and Japan, but nothing about Australia, and I am concerned, so I joined this forum.

I hope and pray you are all OK.
