Accountant_ It's so hard to get 7 for each skill in IELTS !!!

I am very very sad today as my writing is only 6.5 again! One day I got 8 for reading, another day I got 6. One day I got 6.5 for speaking, another day I got 7.5. Can IELTS reflect my true English skills?

I have been working for Britain firms for more than 5 years and I use English very well in business. I am a 'true' accountant, not a student who tries to study accounting to get PR.

I think DIAC should choose accountants who get 7 in total band score and have 2 or 3 year experience. That is more reasonable!

I am hopeless. Can anyone advise me anything? I applied for visa 175 on 2/4/2008. If I can not be in CLS now, my application may be refused one day like ones before Sep 2007.....

I want to go to Australia so badly and I believe that I can do a good job there

Can anyone tell me if an accountant who’s applied under MODL in previous list, because of 6.5 in IELTS, comes in CAT3 or in CAT4 in new arrangements?

Hey Hanh,
Happy to hear that. Great job
I lodged my application in Nov 2009 and since my case is not in priority processing, I am expecting a long wait.
Don't worry about the PR decision, hopefully you'll succeed in that either.
Good luck

Hi Al

Many thanks to your nice advice. I passed IELTS 2 months ago with satisfied rerults (8 9 7 7.5) :)) and now I have a CO allocated. Getting worried each passing day for PR decision !!!

I got 5.5 once for reading, I guess I made mistakes when tranferring answers to the answer sheet
I also recommend others to be persistent, positive and good luck

Have you got your visa?

Dear Hanh
I totally understand you, cause I had the same problem. I sat on IELTS test for 4 times and each time I failed to get 7 in one of the skills. But at the 5th attempt, I finally managed.
I think there is something wrong with the IELTS testing system because, as an instance, In 4 tests, I got 8.5 and 9 in reading but in one test I got 5.5! and the situation was the same for other skills!

It cost me 1000 USD and a complete year to get the marks I needed.
I recommend you to be persistent and positive. Don't lose your faith in your language skills.
Meanwhile, try to reduce your stress in the exam and increase your concentration and confidence.
And the key point: what ever your total band score is, you should increase it for 1 mark, then you will get 7 in all the skills.
Good luck

i m on the same boat like you... I've applied on 12th Feb'09, Accountant, Non CSL, MODL; IELTS 6.5
Almost dying mate due to injustice practised by DIAC to Accountant.
