First Entry

Well it's December the 5th 2008 and it's cold in Bath UK where Socket Creative the publishers of Embrace Australia are located. I've just up loaded a profile picture of myself which probably shows why I want to Embrace Australia (it's cold and our gas bills have just gone up 30%).

We have been planning to launch this site for some time now. It's actually over three months late as we should have launched on September the 1st, still life doesn't go to plan does it. Hopefully we will have all the editorial finished by the end of next week so we can go live before Christmas.

I'm glad to see my friend Sarah has already joined up (I gave her the password for the site before launch). Her and her family moved out to Queensland a while ago. I'm hoping Embrace will help us keep in touch on a more regular basis. So Sarah please upload some photo's of yourself, Mo and Freddie (new baby we haven't seen). I'm just about to put some up of Bev (my partner) and Lauren (my daughter) and Sophia (Bev's daughter).

I have a few friends living there already and I need to arrange a trip to visit soon. I also know so many Australians living in the UK, they have adapted so well and help us Britons smile on a daily basis with there humour and love of life.

That's what I think Embrace is about. If you're an Australian travelling then why not sign up and keep in touch while you're away. Or if you're away for good then likewise, this is a place for you as well.

If your British or any other nationality come to that and love the place for whatever reason; you want to move there, travel there or you live there already, join us and become another member of the Embrace family.

Thanks Philippa and thanks for signing up, say hi to Sarah for me when you see her, Australia's gain is our loss!

The site should be launching within the next five days so hope you can give some advice to a few people in the future.

Great idea - hope Embrace grows.....
.....am seeing Sarah and family this week on their trip to Brissy. She was one of my first uk friends here - and I love her sense of humour and friendship, plus knowing that we shared similar London work /social life before the move here.
Hope you get out here soon - it is great - even though that after all this time, still slightly odd that santa hasn't adapted to the weather and managed to swap his red and white trouser suit for boardshorts and singlet !
